Aluminum Alcohol Containers and Refillable Beer Bottles: Refund Rate Varies
Aluminum alcohol containers are not managed through the Return-It system. The BC Brewers Recycled Container Collection Council (BRCCC) are directly responsible for these containers under their Stewardship program. As this depot has not been issued a license by the BRCCC to manage and be financially compensated for these containers, consumers may receive a partial deposit refund to cover the depot’s costs for the handling of these containers.
Return-It has been in discussions with the BRCCC and the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy on the importance of BRCCC licensing all Return-It depots in BC so that consumers can receive their full deposit refund.
