Parksville Bottle & Recycling

June 19, 2010 2:00PM - 6:00PM

“Are you guys ready for the Return-It Man Tour de Force?” asked Louise as Return-It Man and Super Sidekick casually walked into the Depot. The two Heroes looked at each other, giddy with anticipation of what the Parksville Depot had in store.

First stop was the famous Errington Market. Return-It Man was the main event, MC'ing the raffles and dancing with local band Kent & Company. Later, Return-It Man took the kids at the Market to the adjacent field to play a whole bunch of recycling games with the 35 beach balls that were inflated for the event. Just as the sun reached its peak, Return-It Man felt a tug at his arm, spinning around he saw a beaming Louise. “You ready for event number two” she asked.

“I was born ready” replied an overconfident Return-It Man who was still dancing with one of the market vendors.

The next stop was Parksville Bottle & Recycling depot. As Return-It Man stepped out he couldn't believe his eyes. “Elvis! In the flesh, and he's grilling hotdogs” exclaimed a stunned Return-It Man.

Sure enough the Depot did not disappoint, decked to the nines in seventies flare, staff and customers chowed down on hotdogs and danced the afternoon away to Cream, Abba, and even some Pink Floyd. After giving away the best dressed staff award Return-It Man got ready for event number three...The Beach! and what a beach it was. From long boarding to Frisbee, families to parties, Return-It Man had his hand in every cookie jar, spreading the good word of recycling.

Thanks Parksville for the amazing day!!
