Week 9 Highlights
Chilliwack Bottle Depot
The new management team at the Chilliwack Depot were pleasantly surprised to see the famous Return-It Man grace their depot... From the local shops to the depot lot, Chilliwack was a-buzz with Return-It Man, but more importantly with the act of recycling. Recyclers from all over town made their way to the Chilliwack Bottle Depot with the hopes of winning the coveted prize camera and of course a high five from the Super Hero himself. In fact things got so busy that Return-It Man had to use some of his super strength to take a couple anxious dogs out for a walk. Great work Chilliwack!
Fraser Valley Recycling
The Party Cart was back for one final hurrah! What is the Party Cart, you ask... Well, you take a clean bottle cart, fill it with an array of snacks, soda pop, and other sweets and voila you have a Party Cart! Ocourse what Party Cart would be complete without a Super Hero to push it around. With a grin and an extra spring in his stride, Return-It Man made his rounds, filling the bellies of all the good recyclers. When the masses had eaten, Return-It Man took some important time to inform the passers-by about the benefits of end-of-life electronics recycling, and all the good we can do by safely disposing of our acceptable end-of-life electronics. The hot weather and big smiles made this a day Return-It Man won't soon forget.
BBK Bottle Depot
Return-It Man had no trouble spotting the BBK Bottle Depot, as the fun lovin' staff spent hours cutting out Return-It To Win-It Signs...not to mention the giant "WIN" in the window. All the winning seemed to rub off on Return-It Man, as he was a big hit everywhere he went. First it was the Costco where he gave an important lecture on the fundamentals of recycling beverage containers. Next it was over to the Future Shop where he was able inform the staff about the benefits of recycling electronics,
and lets not forget the Depot where Return-It Man danced the afternoon away to the sweet, sweet sound of cans and bottles being returned for recycling.
Rupert Bottle Depot
Neither sleet nor snow could stop recycling... not even the torrential down pour in Prince Rupert! The local Rock Radio Station turned out for the Return-It-Man visit and cranked the tunes all afternoon. Return-It-Man gathered his energy and bounced all over town, making friends at bus stops, shopping malls, and local parks... In fact our Super Hero was so excited that he didn't even notice the rain bogging
down his cape (it did make flying a little bit trickier) as he marched through town. After frisbees and yo-yos, camera winners and plenty of recycling, it was time for Return-It-Man to bid farewell to the lovely town of Prince Rupert. Until next year!
Terrace Bottle Depot
After drying off his suit, Return-It-Man was back in action. The Depot owners coordinated the event with a wide array of happenings, in fact all Return-It-Man had to do was hang out at the depot and let the bottle drives, lacrosse teams and families pile in to meet and greet the famous Super Hero. Out on the street Return-It-Man was met by all sorts of characters, making his visit that much more entertaining and sparking his recycling sense of adventure. Honking horns, and smiling faces made this an event to remember.
