Week 4: June 15 - June 17, 2007

Rocky Mountain Return Centre, Kitchener Bottle Depot, Biggar Bottle Depot & Maple Ridge Bottle Depot

June 15, 2007: Rocky Mountain Return Centre

After setting up the Celebration Tour on site, Return-It Man and his Super Sidekick went down by the New Westminster Quay to draw in new customers. He found a fine musician who was playing for a captive audience and joined in the fun laying down the odd dance move for the spectators. After the show ended many people who were dining in front of the Fraser River had an opportunity to meet with Return-It Man who let everyone know about the nearby Rocky Mountain Depot and the draw for the prizes.

For some individuals in this area and Encorp's Promotions Team could tell that the prizes they gave them were very meaningful. It was an encouragement to these customers to know that they were part of a good thing and of course they had chance to win the grand prize BBQ and digital camera provided lots of extra incentive to recycle as much as they could.

June 16, 2007: Kitchener Bottle Depot

The Kitchener Depot staff had Return-It Man and his Super Sidekick divide the shift between two separate locations. One was at Brentwood Mall at the corner of Halifax and Willingdon and the other was at the corner of Gilmore and Lougheed. The Depot owners were happy to have him in these very visible locations and the presence of the Super Sidekick proved to be a great asset for Return-It Man to have the option of moving away from the Depot.

The team managed to have a number of conversations with patrons from Brentwood Mall, many of whom were unaware of the existence of the Depot and were happy to hear that it was so close. Return-It Man sealed the deal ensuring these individuals would remember to visit the depot by giving out a few Return-It branded items.

When Encorp's Promotions Team came back the Depot the staff was really happy to hear about Return-It Man's interactions. They finished a great day by drawing a lucky digital camera winner.

June 16, 2007: Biggar Bottle Depot

The Biggar Bottle Depot was buzzing with customers when Encorp's Promotions Team arrived and things did not slow down at any point of this Celebration Tour date! A few people said that they had been curious as to who the Return-It Man from the advertisement was and thought the mascot outfit was great.

Return-It Man took some time to make his big gestures and happy disposition down Kingsway to drive as many people as possible to the depot location. As always, the Promotions Team knew they were getting attention when they saw faces light up and heard their honking horns. As soon as the Promotions Team had their attention they would point in the direction of the Depot.

Return-It Man also ensured that every customer he engaged entered the draw.

June  17, 2007: Maple Ridge Bottle Depot

This Tour date fell on Father’s Day and Return-It Man took full advantage of the opportunity to celebrate with all of the fathers that he encountered. The Maple Ridge Depot is one where many families, including parents and kids, come to recycle their containers together on the weekend. Return-It Man noticed many fathers setting great examples for their children and did not fail to reward them for their great work. Many of the parents would take their prize and give it to their children thus building incentives at a young age to return their empty beverage containers.

In one vehicle two children were in the back playing video games. Return-It Man walked up to the van and waved in the window. Both kids, when they saw him, dropped their games immediately and clamored out of the car to find out more about Return-It Man.
