Return-It App – Organizations Desktop

Getting started is simple! Whether you're new to the Return-It App or just looking for guidance, this page has everything you need. Find step-by-step tutorials on navigating the welcome page, redeeming your funds, checking your recycling history, and more. Make the most of your app experience.

Welcome to Home Page

  1. Donations

    Click on 'Donations' to see all the details of donations made to your organization through Express.

    The dashboard will show both redeemed and unredeemed donations.

  2. Subdivisions

    If you would like to separate your bottle drives or fundraising campaigns from each other, you can create a subdivision.

    To do this:

    1. Click on 'Subdivisions' in the menu on the left side
    2. Type the name of the Subdivision and click the plus sign
    3. You will need to link an email to the Subdivision by clicking the pen icon
    4. The Subdivision and its balance will then be visible from the dashboard of the personal account it has been linked to

    Each subdivision will have its own QR code and referral link that you can share.

Growth Tips

    Complete 5 or more tips to become a Featured Organization—your organization will appear on the Return-It app dashboard for customers to discover.

    Tasks include:

    Additional ways to grow (not included in Growth Tips):

    • Share QR Code: Let others donate directly to your organization.
      Note: once selected, all future returns from that customer will go to your account until they change it.

    • Add Your Logo: Upload your logo to help people recognize your organization.

    Post Your Link

    Add a donation button to your website. This directs supporters to donate and automatically links future returns to your organization.

    Send Out a Newsletter

    Keep your community informed and engaged by sending out a newsletter. Include your donation link to make it easy for supporters to contribute.

    Post on Instagram

    Spread the word by sharing your donation link in a post or story. It’s a simple way to inspire your followers to support your cause.

    Post on Facebook

    Raise awareness by posting your donation link on Facebook. Encourage supporters to donate their returns.

    Tell your story in a blog post and invite readers to support your organization through bottle donations.

    Share your journey with local media to reach a broader audience and gain new supporters for your cause.

    QR Code

    You can share your QR code which when scanned will direct people to set up automatic donations to your organization.

    Once a customer has chosen to donate to your organization, all future returns will be donated automatically until the customer changes their donation settings.

Redeeming Funds

  1. Once you have reached a minimum of $10 on your Return-It Express balance, you are eligible for an Interac e-Transfers redemption.

    To redeem funds:

    1. On the left navigation panel click on "Redeem Funds" or click on the “$” icon if you are on the "Home" tab of your account.
    2. Select "Redeem funds without donating".
    3. Click "NEXT" on the bottom-right of the pop-up screen.
    4. Click on the Redemption method box and select the "Interac e-Transfer" option and click "NEXT".
    5. Click on the "Security question" box and select one of the questions. Type an answer in the "Answer" box that you will remember when being asked to deposit your funds into your bank account.

    NOTE that all Return-It Express customers must select a security question and create a security answer even if the Interac auto-deposit feature is enabled through their online banking.

    1. Make note of your security answer and click "NEXT".
    2. Click on the "REDEEM FUNDS" button to request your Interac e-Transfer.

    NOTE that redemptions are for the full account balance, no partial redemptions are available.

Switching Between Accounts

  1. All group and charity accounts are linked to a personal account. You can switch between these accounts by clicking in the top left corner.
