Vancouver Beverage Container Recycling Bins

Recycling Bin Pilot Program

The Beverage Container Recycling Pilot showcases an innovative partnership between Encorp Pacific, the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation to provide additional recycling options for Vancouver’s citizens and visitors.

By providing receptacles in high-traffic locations, the pilot program makes it more convenient for the public to recycle and aligns with Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 Action Plan zero waste goal of keeping recyclables out landfills and incinerators.  This innovative partnership includes 60 new recycling receptacles installed on Vancouver’s most popular beaches – Kitsilano, Sunset Beach, English Bay, and 2nd Beach at Stanley Park – and on Commercial Drive between 3rd and 13th.

The pilot will serve as a model for potential future deployment of Encorp receptacles, both in Vancouver and in other BC municipalities.

Recycling your beverage container matters – each year recycling beverage containers, in British Columbia, saves enough energy to power 46,000 homes, takes the equivalent of 27,000 cars off the road, and reduces 96,000 tonnes of Co2 equivalent being released into the air.
