Depot Community Involvement

A number of our depots have been very successful with their bottle drives and charity bins that contribute to those in need in their communities. Here are a couple highlights:

The Bottle Depot, locations on Quadra Street, Queens Avenue, and Glanford Avenue, have done well with their yellow charity donation bins. The depots have raised over $39,000 in the past two years, and each month one deserving charity receives the donation. The program is set up so that donating is as easy and convenient as possible for the customers, taking away the hassle of sorting and having the bins accessible 24 hours a day.

Parksville Bottle & Recycling stepped up to help a young family in need.

Starting at about 8am, the bottle drive brought seven trucks, volunteers, and staff from the Parksville Depot together and was unloading stacks of bottles and bags of cans every hour. With cash donations, container refunds, and a 10% contribution of all container refunds from the Parksville Bottle Depot, they were able to raise over $10,000 in one day.
