"Cycle of Life/Recycle" Art Response Program

Encorp supports and provides information about ART's integrated program which uses music as the cross-curricular mechanism to learn about environmental issues.

The objectives of this program are to help with:

• Upgrading environmental education
• Increasing student interest in the issues
• Filling the gap left by cutbacks to music education
• Exploring ways that a cross-curricular approach can enhance learning

The in-school program is comprised of a series of cost-recovery incentives, which offer schools the opportunity to recoup costs of the music program. Total cost of the program is $4,000; of this cost each school pays $3,000. Parks Canada, Fisheries and Oceans of Canada and Environment Canada sponsors the remaining $1,000.
